Love God
Sunday School
For youth in 6th-12th Grade
Jesus used parables to teach about the kingdom of God in ways that were rich and relevant for his first century hearers. Today, in the twenty-first century, his teachings about God’s kingdom are still relevant, but the illustrations need updating for a young, modern audience. Using a powerful video series, students will hear the parables in fresh ways that entertain, teach, and engage the heart.

Confirmation 2012: Rooted and Built Up
For youth in grades 7 and above
Until now, much of your faith journey has been determined for you. You may have been baptized as an infant, before you can even remember. Your parents have brought you to church – perhaps even required you to come sometimes. You have learned about God, Jesus, and the church in Sunday school or youth group. Confirmation is the time when you claim that faith as your own: before God, before your family, and before your brothers and sisters in Christ. Confirmation is not a special ritual that gets you “in” with God or into the church; God has known you and loved you since before you were born. Confirmation is the time when you say “Yes” to God’s call upon you life and state your own desire to know and love God more.
Beginning on January 29, the confirmation class will meet together for three months of discussion-based classes, plus and overnight retreat to Charleston, and a day of service in our community. On May 9, the youth will be examined by the Session, and on May 13 they make their public profession of faith during the 10:30 worship service.
Learn more about confirmation.
