Social Witness & Justice
The Gospel stories witness to Jesus’ prophetic challenge to the established social and economic order of his day. His life and ministry still challenge us to confront injustice and preach the Good News. We now step forward in His name to extend the witness for justice, promoting greater social equality and caring for the world we live in. --A Social Creed for the 21st Century adopted by the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2008.
Through the Social Witness and Justice Committee, Sea Island Presbyterian seeks to be a leader in stimulating change that imitates God’s caring kingdom on earth.

Kirk Night Class: Headline News
There are many topics and issues in the news that compete for our attention and energy, but few news sources help us think about these issues from the perspective of faith in Jesus Christ. In this informal discussion group, participants are invited to bring printed stories from the newspaper, news magazines, or internet news sites to share with the group. The group will review the stories and discuss together how people of faith might think about those issues and then respond with action in our personal lives, our community, or our world.
Wednesdays @ 6:30pm in the Cry Room
Fair Trade Coffee
The Just Coffee Cooperative offers a special link between people who drink coffee and the people who grow it. All of the coffee offered through the Just Coffee Co-op is produced by small farmers who are paid fairly for the beans, work together with other farmers in a cooperative, use organic growing principles. This ensures that more of the money we spend on coffee reaches the hardworking farmers who actually grow it. With each bag of Just Coffee you purchase, you can see exactly how much the grower was paid per pound! Regular and decaf coffee are available in whole bean or ground.
Purchase in the church office for just $9.00/bag.
Recycling
Beaufort County does not provide recycling pick-up at the church, so volunteers are needed to pick up the church's recycling and deliver to the St. Helena Island Transfer Station once every two weeks. Consider volunteering on a regular schedule to help reduce the church's "footprint" on earth.
