Upcoming Opportunities
Family Promise
Each quarter, Sea Island Presbyterian Church welcomes up to four families to stay on our church campus. Each week these families stay at a different church while they work to get back on their feet and into a home of their own. Through the Family Promise program, families are paired with a case manager who helps them meet all their needs and work toward stability and independence. For one week, SIPC will be transformed into a welcoming, comfortable home for these families.
Want to help? Over 50 volunteers are needed to make Family Promise a success at SIPC. Here are some of the ways you can get involved:

Recycling at SIPC
Did you know that there is no recycling pick-up in the area where SIPC is located? To help keep our church "green" and reduce our footprint on the earth, SIPC relies on volunteers to pick-up our recycling and take it to the nearest convenience center.
Are you willing to help the church recycle? Most volunteers pick-up our recyclables only once each quarter. To join the rotation, contact Pastor Heather at 843.525.0696 or by e-mail.
St. Helena Elementary School
Volunteers are needed at St. Helena Elementary School on St. Helena Island to help tutor students during the school day either one-on-one or in small groups. Mentors are needed to partner with just one student for tutoring during the school day and additional support outside of school hours. To learn more about becoming a tutor or mentor, contact Lucillle Gadson in the school office at 843.838.0300 or by email.
The school is also collecting watches for their "Watch Us Grow" math incentive program. Digital and analog watches are needed, with or without working batteries. Watches may be dropped off at the school -- 861 Sea Island Parkway.

LowCountry Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. Homes are sold to qualified families in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individuals, churches and businesses provide money and materials to build Habitat homes.
This summer, LowCountry Habitat has embarked on an ambitious project to renovate 2 existing homes and build three new homes! LOTS of volunteers are needed to move these five projects from dream to reality. Both experienced and novice volunteers are welcome. Shifts are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Sign up online or call Ryan Copeland at 843.522.3500.
