Church-Wide Oyster Roast
Friday, February 27, 5:30 to 7:00 pm
“To describe our growing up in the low country of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink our knees in mud, open you an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, ‘There. That’s taste. That’s the taste of my childhood..'” (Pat Conroy, “Prince of Tides”)
It’s that time of year again! Sharron Kendall on behalf of the Salt Shaker Ministry where we break bread in one another’s homes for good food and warm fellowship is happy and excited to announce that our annual church-wide Oyster Roast is scheduled for Friday, February 27, 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The oysters will be prepared and provided in the fellowship area where our picnic tables are located on the southside of the church campus. Chili, Soup and Hot Dogs will also be available. (I’m already hungry!)
A couple of things to keep in mind: 1) Please RSVP by February 20 using Sharron’s email address sharkendall123@gmail.com (we want to pre-order the appropriate number of bushels), 2) Bring your own drink that you enjoy consuming with oysters and 3) Donations will be accepted to offset the cost.
