Membership at Sea Island

We Invite You to Be Part of Our Church Family

If you find a spiritual home at Sea Island and desire to commit your life to the mission of Jesus Christ, we will rejoice to share membership in Christ’s body with you! If you are interested in exploring membership at SIPC or who we are and what we do, we offer opportunities to hear the history, governance, and doctrine of the Presbyterian Church (USA) as well as information about the mission, work, and ministry of SIPC.

Three Ways to Join Our Congregation

Certificate of Transfer

If you have an existing membership with another church, we can transfer your membership to Sea Island. We will announce you as a new member during worship service and introduce you to the congregation.

Reaffirmation of Faith

If you don’t have a transferable membership, or you haven’t been an active member of a church in a while, or you simply wish to profess your faith before joining, you can become a member through a Reaffirmation of Faith. The Pastor will meet with you and guide you through the responses that you will share during worship. After you have made your reaffirmation, you will be introduced to the congregation and welcomed as a new member.

Profession of Faith

For those who are new Christians and wish to join our church, we will ask you to make a Profession of Faith to the congregation. The Pastor will meet with you in advance and guide you through the responses that you will share during worship. When you make your Profession, you will be introduced to the congregation as a new member, and joyfully welcomed into our family of faith.

Membership in the Church of Jesus Christ is a joy and a privilege. It is also a commitment to participate in Christ’s mission. A faithful member bears witness to God’s love and grace and promises to be involved responsibly in the ministry of Christ’s Church.
