Deacons
Deacons are Elected to Provide Compassion, Witness, and Service to the Congregation
The deacons who serve at Sea Island are available to everyone. Every person in our congregation is assigned a deacon. The people that a deacon is responsible for make up their Network of Care. A deacon communicates with their Network of Care throughout the year with phone calls, notes, and face to face conversations. If you ever need to reach a deacon, please feel free to use the button below.
The ministry of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress. Deacons are elected because they are persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, sincere compassion, and sound judgment.
