Welcome to All & a Brief Word about Congregational Emails
A warm and friendly welcome in the name of Christ is extended to everyone here this morning. Please use the available Friendship Folders located in each pew aisle to update/share your email address and to provide any special concerns and requests. The folders are checked each Sunday following the second worship service. Your email address enables the pastoral staff to share special announcements and information via congregational emails. In addition, you may also Google the Sea Island Presbyterian Church website and/or access Sea Island’s Facebook page where you can also read about the life, work, and mission of the church.

Montreat Youth Conference
Another Sea Island group of young people have enjoyed a busy and wonderful week at Montreat as this summer retreat affirms youth in their calling to be and to shape the church of Jesus Christ. Gathered with youth from around the southeast and beyond, the youth conference supports the affirmation that our youth have a place in the church where they can experience authenticity, community, and connection. The conference last week provided an inclusive space where each voice could be heard, where each heart could be molded and where all could be embraced. A big “thank you” to everyone who made this trip to North Carolina possible as this annual adventure continues to play a big role in the Christian nurture of our youth.

Summer Days at Sea Island
Children of the Church – Waterslide on August 3
Our children have met on Wednesday mornings through the summer learning about the necessity of clean water through Bible stories, music, art and recreation. Thankful for our many volunteers, another season of Summer Days at Sea Island comes to an end this Wednesday with one last class session at the beginning of the day followed by games on the church lawn, a gigantic Water Slide, and meal of hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch. Moms and Dads, and Grandparents: Make sure your child or children have their swimsuit, towel and are ready to have a good time!

Christian Education for Children, Youth, & Adults
Sensitive to the rhythm and pattern of the workweek and weekends, the present demands regarding family schedules, and where we are in the aftermath of medical cautions in response to the pandemic, we are looking at following a similar schedule that was established prior to March 2020 with an adult Sunday morning group meeting at 9:30 am between the two worship services with our children and youth meeting on Sunday evenings. The after-school tutoring ministry for students from nearby schools located on Lady’s Island with begin in September and Kirk Night will continue Wednesday evenings. Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control, schedules and format are subject to change. One thing we have learned over the course of the last two years is the necessity to adjust when needed. We pray for a good and productive year for learning and growing in Christ filled with warm fellowship.

Post-Op Report Regarding Mark Dievendorf
Minister of Music
We give thanks to God for Mark’s successful surgery Thursday morning at the Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville, SC. As of Friday morning, Mark was looking forward to his discharge and return home where he will spend the next four weeks recuperating from his surgery and regaining his strength. We will continue to share up-to-date reports as they become available. In the meantime, Mark and Mary Jo are appreciative of the many prayers and expressions of support.
