May 6, 2024
Friends,
Greetings in the Lord.
The Clerk of Session from the St. Andrews Church of Scotland, Rome Italy shared information with me last week about a global initiative under the title of “Thy Kingdom Come,” which is an ecumenical prayer movement that occurs each year between Ascension Day (Thursday, May 9) and Pentecost Monday ((May 20). Those who would like to participate are asked to simply choose (5) people who may not know the love of God for themselves and pray for them each day. A Prayer Journal and other resources are available via www.thykingdomcome.global.
The International Presbytery is also hosting two short online prayer gatherings to coincide with the ten day initiative.
Ascension Thursday, May 9, 10:00 am
Pentecost Monday, May 20, 10:00 am
A Zoom Link is posted on the Presbytery website if you would like to attendL

Mother’s Day Offering
You are invited to support this special offering scheduled for next Sunday in support of the Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina. It all began in 1954 when members off the Synod of South Carolina recognized a need to care for senior adults in South Carolina, and the Mother’s Day Offering was established.
The deep commitment, sacrifices and prayers of these pioneers were the foundation of what would become Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina. Your generous gifts assist in closing the gap with rising costs allowing residents to remain in the place they call home. Checks may be addressed to SIPC and earmarked for the 2024 Mother’s Day Offering.
Get Ready to Smile!
Many of you have asked for a directory of our congregation with pictures so you can put names to faces. Great news: It’s coming soon! This directory will be on our church website, and you will be able to access it with a password.
Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 19 when volunteers will snap individual or family pictures after both worship services. You will have a brief form to fill out with the pertinent information to include with your photo in the directory. (Note: This is not a professional service selling pictures – it’s by us and for us only.) Can’t be there May 19? We’ll have more photo dates soon. For more information contact Chris Crooke at kenchris73@yahoo.com or 860.214.4301.
