Come & See
Information Gallery, August 25

Sea Island is involved in nearly 40 difference ministries which support our mission to “Love God, Love Ohers, Reach Out.” You are invited to the Fellowship Hall on Aug. 25 for a review of what we do and to see where you might like to serve.

Sunday Evenings at Sea Island
For Children, Youth & Parents, Begins September 15

We begin this new cycle of ministry with a cookout, games, a devotion, and fellowship. We will also receive information about the schedule for the year regarding lock-ins and retreats. The fellowship on Sunday evenings with our children and youth is intended to help them grow and mature in the faith, to help them know Jesus Christ.

Wednesday Kirk Night
September 18: Supper & Small Groups

A new 6-week study begins with a book study on “The 4:8 Principle” led by Julie Mabe. Based on Philippians 4.8 it seems fitting at this time when our world is so politically divided and angry. Our time together will help us clear our heads with God’s positivity. Pastor Steve will also lead a review of several theological understandings of the Bible as they relate to life and faith. Registration for supper and the classes will be available beginning August 25 (Next Week).

Safe Haven; After School Tutoring Ministry

Working with students primarily enrolled at Lady’s Island Elementary School, volunteers are always needed and appreciated. Volunteers work with children of single parents or grandparents helping with homework, tutoring and so much more. Please consider joining us for one or two afternoons a week for one, two, or three hours a day. Sign up sheets are located in the Narthex, gathering Room, and Office Reception Area. +

College & University Students – Fall Semester

We have tried to reach out to every college student in our congregation before they sojourned to their respective college campuses. For those whose schedules required that they travel early in the month, Pastor Steve and Kay have made telephone calls. The telephone calls continue. In reference to his freshman year at the Central Florida Community College, Ocala, FL, our “rising stars” are advised to attend class (don’t skip), find the library, complete every assignment, get off to a good start (courses of study get harder as you proceed thru the semester), don’t forget to call home to say hello, and not least, practice your faith. +

How to Become a Member of Sea Island

To be human is to live in community with others. Loneliness is a lack of community and an expression that life is failing. (Johannes Pederson) Membership in a body of persons enhances rather than restricts the unfolding of one’s personality. Membership in a community of faith brings one into a fellowship of mutual love and service, and with it the privilege of communicating the love of God in the places where we live, work, and play.

We welcome new members into our church family with a smile on our face and joy in our hearts. Sea Island accepts new members by Profession of Faith, Reaffirmation of Faith, or Certificate of Transfer from another congregation.
