MADD Children’s Ministry
Presbyterian Youth Connection, Mid & Senior High
Sunday Afternoon, 5:00 to 6:30 pm

This ongoing ministry is developed for continued 1) faith exploration, 2) discipleship training, 3) community building, 4) leadership development, 5) service to others, and 6) connecting our young people to the wider church via presbytery events, Montreat Conferences, and the spring visit to Scotland and the island and Abbey of lona.

Safe-Haven, After School Tutoring Ministry
Monday thru Thursday, 3:30 to 5:30 pm
Christian Education Wing

Working with and supported by the Beaufort County School District, this ministry with its many volunteers from our congregation provides a safe environment for the children and students to develop their skills in reading, writing, math and a wide assortment of other subjects. Since the development of the Safe Haven, our students have excelled in their respective classrooms.

Session Council
Monthly Stated Meeting, Monday, 6:00 pm

Members of the Session Council will gather Monday evening, in the Wing of the Fellowship Hall, along with our Elders-Elect, for its first meeting of the New Year. Various committee reports will address such areas as Christian education, finances, pastoral care needs, and the overall ministry of the church in the first quarter of a new church year.

Officer Training in January

The second session of Church Officer Training, provided by Jim Deavor, Clerk of Session at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, will take place tomorrow evening January 12 by way of Zoom with following sessions on January 26 & February 2. In person training will be conducted on January 24 at the presbytery office in North Charleston. The training addresses the areas of personal faith, knowledge of doctrine, government, and discipline as contained in the Constitution of the church, and the duties of ministry. Looking ahead, Elders and Deacons-Elect are scheduled to be examined in these areas of study at the monthly stated meeting of the Session Council on February 9 with their Ordination and Installation scheduled for Sunday, February 15, a week after the Super Bowl.

They will also be providing a basic soup for your eating pleasure as we prepare for the Super Bowl game in Santa Clara, CA.
