Friends,

In the Christian spirit of ecumenism, a large group of high school and college students along with a number of advisors and chaperones, drawn from the South Carolina United Methodist Conference, are scheduled to arrive Saturday afternoon where they will again utilize our campus and facilities as their home base as they tackle repair work on several homes located on St. Helena Island.

Having married a Methodist, received a scholarship for college from a Methodist Church, and graduated from Florida Southern which is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, it is our hope our guests will feel very much at home at Sea Island. The summer service group enjoyed our hospitality for several years before the onset of the pandemic in 2020. This is their first return trip to the low country.

Your mission committee chaired by Hugh Goldthorpe along with the leadership of committee members Dean and Jo Feaster have paved the way for this exciting venture to happen. When you arrive for church on Sunday and drive by the church campus next week, don’t be surprised by the new faces and activity you might see.

Welcome to Sea Island where our hearts, arms, hands, and doors are open! May the peace of Jesus Christ be with you. +
