Friends,
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” (Psalm 23) God is the one who cares and provides. God is not a distant being but rather one who has assumed a very particular responsibility to us.” (The Rev. Chalres Kalmbach, Parish Associate)
While I attend the Men’s Retreat this weekend at Pair-a-Dice Island with some twenty men from the church, our good friend Charles Kalmbach will fill the pulpit this Sunday morning, the 4th Sunday in Lent. As Kay recorded Charles Friday morning, I took the liberty to sit in one of the pews near the front to listen to what the preacher had to say. Having already heard the Sunday sermon, I would encourage you who are available and able to also find yourself in one of the Sea Island pews Sunday morning either for the 8:30 or 10:30 worship service. You will hear a very distinct voice share a very important message that has direct application for the time in which we live. It is thought-provoking, inspiring, comforting, and reassuring.
Because of my remote location Sunday morning, gathered with Christian brothers on a sea barrier island off the coast, the pre-recorded service will not be available until after 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon. May you find the time to watch and listen. Otherwise, may you enjoy the fellowship of sisters and brothers in Christ as you worship from a Sea Island pew.
The Church Campus that Never Sleeps
It’s almost 9:30 pm and some 25 children in addition to youth helpers and adult advisors take a break from a 5 hour rehearsal for their Easter Musical scheduled for Palm Sunday, April 2, 6:30 pm, in our Sanctuary. A 5:30 pm Supper of Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, and Baked Beans will be provided in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 pm. And Jesus said, “Blessed are the children (and youth) for such is the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 18) +
On this St. Patrick’s Day, may God bless your days with peace, love, and happiness always. “Dia Beannacht Leat.” (Gaelic for “God bless you.”) +
