Welcome
Through the years, the doors of Sea Island have been open to visitors and guests, friends and neighbors, seekers and “nones” (a new category of folks who do not identify with any one faith tradition) in the spirit that all of us are God’s children, and whether we realize it or not, a significant portion of life is devoted to searching for a place we can call our spiritual home.

Sea Island is not a perfect community of faith, but it is a church family of “ragamuffins” that is thankful for its history as a new church development of the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery, and a congregation that is always ready to celebrate the present and embrace the future in the context of God’s grace in Jesus Christ.

Children’s Church
Children’s Church is available for children ages 4 thru 11 and offered at both services. Lessons are provided that parallel the liturgical seasons of the year enabling our children to grow and mature in the Christian faith. Please contact Clara Partridge at 843.252.6199 if you would like to learn more about this ministry and the possibility of serving as an adult leader and volunteer.

Inquirer’s Class
An Inquirer’s Class will be available from 9:30 to 10:20 on Sundays June 5 and 12 in Room 206. The purpose of the class is to share a little history about the church, what we believe, how we do the work of Christ, and how we fit into the overall scheme of things within the global Body of Christ. Sound interesting? Please contact Will Donovan, Elder, at wdonovan81@gmail.com or Pastor Steve Keeler at skeeler@seaislandpresbyterian.org or 843.812.4207 if you would like to attend. We look forward to welcoming you!

Faith & Theology, Sunday Mornings, 9:30 to 10:20 am
With the end of school, summer travel and pending vacations along with gatherings at the Montreat Conference Center in North Carolina, our Sunday morning small groups for children and youth will take a break for June and July and recommence in the middle of August. An adult small group will continue to meet in Room 208, 9:30 to 10:20 am.

Wednesday (Mid-Week) Study
This Wednesday morning study group continues this week via Zoom as we examine the life and ministry of the twelve disciples. Looking at Scripture references and sources outside the Bible, we have learned that God uses ordinary people to do some very extraordinary things. If you would like to join us, even if it’s on a whim, please contact Kay Keeler at 843.812.4206 or kaykeeler52@gmail.com regarding how to access to the Zoom meeting.

Sea Island Sponsored Scholarships for College
Presbyterians have always been strong advocates of education. Several years ago a Sea Island Family established a scholarship fund to support young and aspiring Sea Island students headed to a college or university in the state of South Carolina. Chairperson Kevin Cuppia announces that applications are available in the church office and may be submitted to Trish Wescott’s office by Tuesday, May 31.

Senior Recognition Sunday
Recent high school graduates Cody Dalrymple, Elora Fu, Emma Grace Dinkins, John Asher Howell, Eillie Seckinger and Mile Spratling; and recent college graduates Kelsey Murrie and Jaco Niemand will be recognized for their academic accomplishment next Sunday, June 5, at the 10:30 am worship service.

Sharing with our Neighbors in Need
We continue to receive canned and boxed/canned food for HELP of Beaufort by way of a receptacle located underneath the portico on the office side of the church campus. We are also collecting paper goods for CAPA and the Food Trailer in support of the Franciscan Center on St. Helena Island is available the 4th Sunday of the each month.

Safe Haven After-School Tutoring Ministry
Anyone who might be interested in volunteering one, two, three or four afternoons from 3:00 to 5:00 pm during the 2022-23 school year, please text Kay Keeler at 843.812.4206 or speak to her on a Sunday morning. We are looking at helping children within a one-mile radius of our church campus.

Social Media Volunteer Recruitment
Instagram, Twitter and Facebook: If those three words mean “fun” to you, the Walk for Water team needs you! Volunteers will help promote this year’s walk by posting info, photos, videos and more to encourage participation and thank sponsors. It is a great ay to network and gain real-life experience for a high school or college student over the summer. Walk for Water raises awareness and money to fight the global
water crisis. All proceeds go to Water Mission, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization that builds safe water and sanitation solutions in developing countries and disaster areas. Interested? Contact Jeanne Reynolds at jandbreynolds@bellsouth.net to learn more.

“Know that you are held in God’s love and wrapped in God’s care and given God’s grace just for the moment ahead – every single moment.” (The Rev. Gini Norris-Lane, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Uvalde, Texas, in a prayer service last Tuesday night.)
