Crafts provided by The Rev. Jack & Chris Nietert

The Zariki School is a collection of buildings in the primitive village of Nyaburugu, population 3,000, on a remote shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania. The Zariki School has over 450 children enrolled and is ranked first in their district for national exams, making a major difference in the life of the village. The school was founded by “Susie” who grew up in the village and had a vision for a better way of life for her people. With a degree from the University of Uganda, “Susie” returned to the village, started the school, and with her other duties, teaches family planning and hygiene to adults in the village. Confirmation 2026

For those who might be interested in confirmation, we are looking at (8) weeks of preparation and study time, about two hours per class, beginning in January with young people in sixth grade and above. The last three classes have chosen a sack lunch with a Sunday gathering following the 10:30 worship service. If this works with our new group of confirmands, we will continue this pattern, however, if there is a better day and time please share your thoughts and ideas with Kay Keeler at kaykeeler52@gmail.com or 843.812.4207. The youth who participate in the class are scheduled to be confirmed on Easter Sunday.
