Souper Bowl Sunday – Thank You!

Our youth are grateful for your strong support last Sunday as they collected via their pots and pans dollar bills in the amount of $816, which will be donated to a local charity of their choice. They also hope you enjoyed the soup!

Ordination & Installation of Church Officers

Following a tradition and religious rite established in the early church, today is a special day in the life of our congregation as we receive a new group of church officers. As they prepare to lead us in the way of Jesus Christ, we promise to pray for them, to encourage them, to respect their decisions, and to follow as they guide us, serving Jesus Christ, who alone is the Head of the Church.

“My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh will bless his holy name forever and ever.” (Psalm 145.21)

A Prayer for the beginning of Lent

“Lent is a time to be with you, Lord, in a special way, a time to pray, to fast, and to follow you on our way to Jerusalem, to Golgotha, and to the final victory over death. I am still so divided, I truly want to follow you, but I also want to follow my own desires and lend an ear to the voices that speak about prestige, success, pleasure, power and influence. Help me to become deaf to these voices and more attentive to your voice, which calls me to choose the narrow road to live.

Please, Lord, be with me every moment and in every place. Give me the strength and the courage to live this Lenten season faithfully, so that when Easter comes, I will be able to taste with joy the new life that you have prepared for me. Amen.” (from Henri Nouwen)

Presbyterian Women – Outreach Projects
School Uniform Pants Drive

Help us provide new or gently used school uniform pants for students at St. Helena Elementary School. They especially need small sizes for students in Pre-K through 1st Grade, Khaki or Black. Pants your kids or grands have outgrown are fine if in good shape. Leave your donations in the blue bin located in the Narthex. POC: Donna Hartley at dfhartley51@gmail.com.

CAPA in Need of Paper Products

We are collecting paper towels, toilet paper and tissues for the CAPA’s Kids Shelter. Every dollar they don’t have to spend on these basic necessities can go toward helping the children they serve. Look for the labeled bin by the office entrance door. POC: Jodie Linn at jodielinn95@gmail.com.
