September 1, 2023

Friends,

Greetings. As we make our way into this Labor Day weekend, the following prayer is offered on behalf of all who share their personal skills via the grace of work supporting family, loved ones, and special causes in the effort to make this a better world in which to live. We pray –

“Lord God, you are ever at work in the world for us and all of humanity. Guide and protect all who work to get their living. Bless those who devote their time and energy to their profession and vocation, whatever line of work it might be, with the intent of doing their best to your glory and honor. Work through us and help us always to work for you; in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Adapted from a Prayer in the Worshipbook)

Looking to Sunday, we will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at both the 8:30 and 10:30 worship services. This, again, is a time for confession, reconciliation, peace-making, and remembering the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus Christ on our behalf, “Come now, O Christ, bone of our bone, flesh of our flesh, forever bound to us in promise and mystery; breathe your Spirit on us and on the bread and wine. Let them become for us the seal and sign of your love healing, redeeming and making us whole. Amen.” + (from the Iona Abbey Worship Book)

As always, you are invited and encouraged to review this week’s announcements by way of the below attachment. As we say goodbye to summer and move into our fall programs, may you find one or several areas of interest and join your sisters and brothers in Christ.

In closing, be on the watch for an email with details about the upcoming Walk for Water. May the Lord bless and keep you, and see you Sunday +

See you Thursday!
